E-readers: Fatores que influenciam a intenção de adoção

The e-readers, devices designed primarily for reading electronic books (e-books) are a recent innovation that is being spread rapidly. Studies on the factors that affecting its adoption are scarce. The descriptive study tests empirically the new version of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT 2), on the behavioral intention to use e-readers. Data collection was done through an online questionnaire, which was obtained 200 valid responses. For data analysis, were used statistical techniques for confirmatory factor analysis and multiple regression. The results showed that the UTAUT 2 was partially confirmed. Three factors contributed most significantly to the intention of future adoption of e-readers, in order: the perception of entertainment or amusement, predicting normal behavior of this new technology and the influence radiated by your circle of friends.
